The Old Wagon House

Romantic Holiday Cottage, situated on Trefranck Farm
Ideal for romantic couples .
One Double Room plus sofa bed in sitting room.
Also available ensuite annex for 2 people.

The Old Wagon House on Trefranck Farm has been owned by the same family since 25th March 1703, over 300 years. As its name suggest The Old Wagon House was where the Horse Wagons that were used on the farm were stored, it has been shown on all our maps as far back has they go, and is built of spar, granites and local stone, some of which we believe to have been dug on the farm in Quarry field, the roof is of rag slate and the front with is three upright granites supporting a 30 foot long beam, which we believe to have come from a ship wreak as you can clearly see it had been used in another place.

Can be used for disabled guest in a wheelchair

The sitting room opens on to a secluded patio which is a real sun trap in the afternoons and evening. Met by Misfit the cat and his friends on a sunny Autumn day, booked well for our Cornish ‘away from it all' break, the Wagon House and hospitality of Sheila and Jimmy has made our stay here unforgettable. We shall “bore” our friends about our perfect holiday and definitely come again. Once is not enough!

Thanks J and S

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The Wagon House is an ideal retreat for a relaxing break – stresses of everyday life just seem to melt away. The accommodation is perfect- very well equipped. The location is fantastic – very peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Sheila and Jimmy are perfect hosts. Joe really enjoyed himself - doing all the things kids should do – getting muddy, going rock pooling, catching shrimps – eating pasty's on the beach!
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be back.

Love N, P and J

Dear Jimmy and Sheila,

Thank you both for a wonderful stay at Trefranck farm. The whole farm is beautiful, and the stable was very cosy. Although there was not much sun, I enjoyed my stay. I had a warm welcome from Nelson and Misfit. Looking after the animals was great! I shall definitely visit again, and will miss you all!

Thank you love O aged 12

Thank you both for a very warm welcome, and for still finding time to give us a tour of the farm in “winter” what can we say that hasn't already been said. As your fist ‘winter' visitors, The Wagon House was warm and welcoming especially with the wood burning stove in action. The location is ideal, peaceful, with beautiful countryside. We came away for a relaxing break to unwind ready for Christmas, and this we have done many times over. We have enjoyed our stay, it was our first stay but it won't be our last. So Jimmy and Sheila thank you once again,

Love M and M.

I stayed in the annex which was absolutely ideal ( every thing I needed) We came to Cornwall for our sister wedding and we couldn't have been more welcomed by Sheila and Jimmy, Certainly learnt a lot about sheep farming.

Many thanks F .

We stayed in the Old Wagon House and were extremely comfortable, will be recommending it to everybody at home. Many thanks and kind regards

M and G
