The farm has been farmed and owned by the same family since 1703. Records show the settlement of Trefranck was first recorded in 1276. The farm, 340 acres, is a mixed farm, with beef and sheep being the main enterprises. In addition there are many other animals; ponies, 2 goats, dogs, cats, and chicken, that lay lovely fresh eggs, and of course many rabbits. Our daughter also has a small flock of rare breed Balwen Sheep, with their unique markings.

Wild life around the farm is abundant with rabbits, foxes, deer, badgers, bats, owls and buzzards. Guests are welcome to go on a Land Rover trip around the farm with Sheila to see the animals and stand under the wind turbines, or go on a night time star watch and maybe see foxes, rabbits, badgers or the barn owls hunting for food.

From the cottages visitors can walk along the country lanes to the mighty wind turbines and see modem technology working to produce clean renewable electricity from the wind. See how they tilt and turn to maximize the wind power, then simply walk in the opposite direction and plunge deep into Celtic Cornish History.
Just 250 yards from the cottage is St Clether Church, follow the foot path through fresh green bracken and smell the golden yellow gorse in full flower, butterflies, birds, wildlife fill this lovely valley.

The footpath leads to St Clether Holy Well with its granite alter and clear holy water, bubbling from deep within the ground. The Holy Well was built pre Norman era, on the spot where earth energy crosses. A peaceful tranquil sanctuary to recharge your batteries, ready for a fun packed and enjoyable holiday ahead.
